I have faced the following problem when defining Business Process Flow in BPC 10.1 (Embedded version, however it's exactly the same for Classic):
We have a very strong business requirement to differentiate the number of approval steps in a BPF depending on the regional hierarchy structure. The structure may have different number of levels depending on the region. For example Western Europe may be only 3 levels deep, while MENEAT region may have up to 7 levels.
What we need to achieve is to have different number of approval steps for different region within the same BPF.
By default approvals in BPF are realized by BPF steps, not by hierarchy chosen. The problem is that steps are common for the whole hierarchy structure. Can this be changed somehow even by completely custom development? This requirement is crucial for business and we can't actually go-live with standard approach.
I would greatly appreciate any kind of idea or hint.
