Basically there is no BP role category mapping, except for some special scenario (e.g. industry solution IS-U).
When the ECC BP replicate to CRM BP, the same role will be replicated to CRM. In CRM table CRMC_BUT_CALL_FU, FM BUPA_MWX_BDOC_MAP_MAIN_FILTER module can be registered for event CRMIN at item 80000: (see note 1714130)

This FM controls the system response if a business partner is created in a role in ERP that does not exist in CRM. If you assign the module, these roles are filtered out during replication, so if you create a BP in a role in ERP that does not exist in CRM, it is only created as
a general BP in CRM. If you do not assign the module, an error message is issued (role does not exist in CRM) instead in this case, and the BP is not replicated to CRM.
If you want to map ECC BP role to a different CRM BP role, enhancement needs to be developed.
