Re: Migrating and deploying classic application to a web application in PB12.6 .Net

Chris,

Again, I don't need ASP.NET or HTML5 or Javascript to build a .NET application, if what I want is to build a desktop application. But I do wish I'd have the .NET Framework available in the same IDE I use to develop PB applications. Of course, having the ability to also build web applications inside PB.NET will be great!

How about migrating to an updated VS Shell IDE, like 2015? If this has not been done is most probably because Sybase/SAP stopped spending resources on this a long time ago.

Ok, WPF may appear to be dead, but .NET is not. I guess what you are trying to say is that companies are choosing to develop web applications instead of desktop applications in which case they don't have a reason to use WPF. Still, Microsoft keeps upgrading WFP and it is still included in the framework which means people still use it. Or maybe they use Windows Forms more, but this doesn't mean .NET adoption is low.

Of course, Appeon should concentrate on developing the features that will distinguish its product from the competition and maybe .NET desktop development is low on the priority list. We'll have to wait and see.

Regards,

Ricardo
