Hi,
You may use Grouping for Punches based on following criteria (Just giving example):
1. Group of employees are restricted to punch in particular time Machine (Terminal ID)
2. Group of employees are allowed to make correction from ESS.
3. Non Punching group of employees (Like management
4. For overtime, absence and other combined rules.
For upload data from custom report, You may do use one of approach i have used:
1. 3rd Party vendor will place row punch file at dedicated Application or FTP Server.
(We have used FTP server) You may discuss with Client and Basis consultant. Suggesting that should not give access to 3rd party vendor user to application server.
2. Ask Basis consultant to schedule script which copy files/Folders from FTP to Application server.
Else. through custom report only you can read files/folder from FTP server and copy to application server.
3. Create 3 folders in server for data. i. Recently placed, ii. In process/erroneous iii. All Uploaded (As backup).
4. Play with all 3 folders through custom report and upload to teven (IT2011) table.
Few points just for info:
1. Function module HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION should not use to upload time events.
There is standard function module to upload time events.
2. Even if you delete time events from IT2011, it will remain in table teven with cancelled flag (X). So write logic considering this point while reuploading.
3. Without IT0050, system will not allow to upload time events.
4. PT63 is used to view complete person view with actual time events.
